Bio: My mom can sew anything. From drapes and slipcovers to my wedding dress, she's made it. And I know all this time she has been thinking where did she go wrong with me. She taught me to sew in the fifth grade. She gave me a sewing machine when I got engaged. Yet, the only things I sewed were out of necessity not for the love of stitching. I made drapes because our windows were drafty. I recovered couch cushions because our couch was tired and old looking. Then one day a friend asked if I wanted to take a sewing class. But I already know how to sew, why would I do that? I took the class anyway and everything changed. Maybe it was sewing for fun and not out of necessity. Maybe it was sewing with a group of like-minded women, but I caught the sewing bug. I am by no means an advanced sewist. Every new pattern scares me just a little. But I love the adventure. ~Emily
